what's the tire height? It'll change that 3.55 to a numerically lower ratio if they are tall enough...and that may make a rorty cam into a dog, even with a vehicle that light.
Just because you can't do it...doesn't mean its impossible

The lower the rear gear ratio: It will make the driveshaft spin more revolutions per mile. I.E. a 4:88:1  
The higher the rear gear ratio: It will make the driveshaft spin lees revolutions per mile. I.E. a 3:88:1
