I have read a couple letters writen to the editor about the Roadster Shops Innovator Nova not being a feature car suited for Popular Hot Rodding. Look at the name of the magazine, it contains the word Popular, and apperantley Innovator is popular, ithas won just a couple awards. The name Innovator suits the car perfectley, Look at all the awesome fab work done to the car. I think that the people that are complaining about this car being in the mag, should really ponder what they are saying. Just because some of us cant devote the time, *** skills to creat such a sweet car, doesn't meen it isnt worthy of this magazine. My personal opinion is this car is awesome, and desreves all the recognition. I dont hear you guys complaining about the Ringbrothers cars (also sweet cars) and other high end cars. Comparing Innovator to a toyota or honda is absolutely stupid, i think you guys are jealous that you dont make enough bank to fund a car like this, or you dont have the skills to build it, so man up and build it, buy it, or shut up.

If we aren't complaining about other high end, expensive cars..then you yourself just proved, it ain't a money issue. Or a skills issue.
Ugly is just ugly. It looks like a Transformer face with 1970 AMF sports interior colors and import/ricer side skirts. And I like the aerodynamic look on ricers, funny that the muscle car guys who rip on it now copy it religiously.
Just because you can't do it...doesn't mean its impossible

What gets me about the car, upon reflection, is that there's a mix of motifs. The grill trying to not be a grill, but a circuit board? That'd work if the rest of the car had a computer motif. but what does a grill off a 1970's van have to do with a race car look? nothing.
What I'd do with a Nova, is use a metal sheet with small bowtie holes water-cut in to look like expanded metal (or a black mesh background)in the grill opening, and use a 1957 sedan grill bar. Fill the turn signals with PIAA spotlights. Its iconic (like the 1957 bumpers or fin or side trim) yet its in a place you don't expect (consider this on a 1967 Camaro, or in the grill under the front bumper).
Maybe bookend the grill bar with the hockey bumpers of a 1966 Corvette and blend in the stock nova bumper as an air dam? Those stingray bumpers look great on the back of a 1969 Camaro...or any car with a rolled pan.
