my son and I are rebuilding a 67 camaro for street use, but would like to lower the car. I have seen several options: shorter springs, dropped spindles, "tall dropped spindles".
What are your recommendations?

Changing the coil springs can stiffen the ride...how is it now? Are you running a big block and air conditioning hanging off the block,or an aluminum-headed smallblock or LS1?
Just because you can't do it...doesn't mean its impossible
