I just began reading the article on the stick shift...why not an aluminum flywheel? David Vizard had an article extolling aluminum flywheels a while back, so I was wondering why not for this car?

This is what McLeod Industries has to say on aluminum versus steel flywheels:
"Most of the time, we recommend a steel flywheel rather then aluminum, because the weight of the steel flywheel helps move the car from a stop light and it also dampens the impulse of the engine, making a smoother idle. The aluminum flywheel is good for racing, when engine braking and hard acceleration out of a turn is desirable."
Brenspeed Mustang Performance had this to say on the subject:
"I would not run the aluminum flywheel. It does not create enough rotating interia to get the car moving, you will have to rev you car way up to get it moving. We put one on our '05 and hated it," said Brian Lichlyter, "Go with the steel, you will be much happier."

I wish I could dig up Vizard's article, he did cover that. Probably suggested a steeper set of rear gears Or maybe just a granny first, tho the RPM drop to Second could be a real PITA.
Maybe we finally caught David getting it wrong? I'm kidding, we're all human.
Next wonder...why did Liz put a tall deck Windsor into a first generation Mustang? she claimed to only know Camaros, which had wider engine compartments like the second gen mustang, but...I thought everyone knew 1stgen Falcons/Mustangs wouldn't like anything wider than a 221/260/289/302 low deck Windsor unless the shock towers got replaced with a Mustang II suspension.
Since she was a tech ed, I'm assuming she either didn't have a 347 stroker kit around, or there was another plan that led to a tall deck Windsor?
