I am installing wilwood big brake kit on my 69 chevelle (need A 5x43/4 16 or 17 inch rim to clear caliper) and was wondering if there are any steel rims (preferably out of A salvage yard) that I could use as I dont want to use nice rims while the car sits for winter and any damage, paint overspray ETC. thats floating around the garage. All responses are appreciated.

I could only find a few factory 16 inch rims that will bolt up to your Chevelle. The first would be rims off of a '93 or newer Camaro or Firebird. According to my source the base models had 16 X 7-1/2" rims on them. Also, if you happen to run across some factory wheels from an XJ or XJS Jaguar, they were 16 X 7".
You could also use the "space saver" spare tire that came in a ton of GM vehicles. I use to see these littering the wrecking yards everytime I went there. Most of these are 16" or larger, and if you're just using them to roll the car around, they should work great. Any mid size RWD GM vehicle up to 1988 could be a possible donor for a space saver spare.
Happy hunting!
