I am in the process of putting a new top end on a  351w in my F-150.  I have a set of E6 heads off of an '86 5.0 that I am thinking about trying on the 351w.  I am going to have a little port work done with a three angle valve job.  My question is... will my compression be o.k.????
Also...can anyone reccomend a good cam for this motor (This will be a daily driver)?  The intake will be a Edlebrock performer.
any help is appreciated

86 swirl head was made one year. not very good place to spend time or money.
you may have to drill out the bolt holes to 1/2 from 7/16.
87 heads much better, what year f-150 you have? carb or injected?
Crane RIP used to make a good flat tappet cam for the stock ford 5.0 5.8 engines that came in the Ford trucks, possible to still find. need more info on you combo to get a closer idea on a cam choice.

E7 heads are better, but by the time you put money into machinework...you could buy a used aftermarket head.  And compare the head port sizes to the port sizes of your 351W...they're either the same, or smaller.

351W has the same spark plug firing order as the 302 HO (not the same as the regular 302's), so...well, ya know, since you have an edel intake, call 'em up and ask what they use in their head-intake-cams package.  I'm not trying to advertise for these people, but they have figured out packages, and at least you know you'll get what you paid for, rather than guess.
