i have a 400ci chevy flywheel auto,my dad has one to.the main weight on them is in same position.then thier is one weight smaller in size 1 inch by half inch in size.they are in differnt position on flywheel.can anyone tell me why.how do they balance.flywheel by it's self or with crank.

when i had my 408sbc balanced and blue printed.
the harmonic balancer, and flywheel/flexplate, were balanced with the crank.

arn't externaly balanced motors a p.i.a.

funny thing, arn't the new gen3-4 motors externaly balanced. for some reason i think they are.
hmm. (scratches head)
