I am a novice rod builder, in the very preliminary stages of planning a build of a '53 F100. I plan to replace the original frame / chassis with one from a modern vehicle (preferably a "wrecker", to save dollars). However; I don't know what donor vehicles I should be looking for, which would be as close as possible to a "bolt-on" swap of a frame / chasis. I want to keep it Ford, as well. I am thinking along the lines of a Ford Explorer / Bronco or Mercury Mountaineer, but do not know which models / years might suit the bill here. Thanks for any advice you can provide!
