just thought i would let everyone know what kind of car i installed these parts on. the car is a 1974 el camino that i bought 15 years ago with a "blown-up 350", turns out it had 3 broken spark plugs and was missing 4 bolts from the trans to block and a torque converter bolt. replaced the bolts and plugs and drove it for five years.found a 1973 monte carlo w/ swivel buckets, 454 4bbl th400. installed the montes dash, steering column, console, seats, engine/trans into the el camino and drove it that way for a couple years. now the car is being built w/496 cubes, edelbrock heads, comp solid street roller, jesel rockers 10:7 to 1 cr forged pistons, rebuilt transw/3500 stall. the 10 bolt rear axles have been replaced,it has powertrax locker and baer disc brakes w/ 13 inch rotors. the rear suspension is all global west, adjustable uppers, lowers with delrin bushings and spherical bearings in the housing, the front suspension is global west uppers and lower tubular control arms with baer 13 inch rotors. the body has extensive modifications, including flush mount glass, door handles, fuel door relocated in bed, shaved marker lights, tucked and narrowed rear bumper, led taillights, and flush mount third brake lite in tailgate, the car has a 75 laguna s-3 nose and 4 inch cowl fiberglass hood. i am currently building a all new metal dash and console for the car and will also make new door panels and one piece fiberglass headliner. i also moved the engine back 4 inches on the crossmember and recessed the firewall and used poly body mount bushing kit from a 72 elcamino, this lowered the body on the frame about 1/2 inch from stock. i am currently waiting on the 20x12 SLG20 wheels w/ 6-3/4backspacing and the 18x10 fronts w/ michelin pilot sport 2 tires to be delivered. then put everything together to make sure it works and then tear it back down for paint.

I have a 74 Laguna that I have been wanting to tuck and narrow the rear bumper on. Do you have any pictures of your bumper?

elchev74, I'd love to see pics also!
74_LagunaS3, I narrowed/tucked my bumper also. If you want it really close (so that it has a gap similar to the other body gaps (like the tailgate, door gaps), it takes a LOT of work. First you section it between the license plate and the lights on both sides, probably about 2" on each side. Then you have to greatly modify the brackets to pull it in/up. Finally you have to modify the ends so they are a little larger to wrap around the bottom of the body. I have pics of my project including the bumper, but this site doesnt allow html links to be posted. So go to myspace.com/gulliver22 and look in my pics (the "1977 El Camino Project" album to see what i've posted).
My Elky has a 75 laguna nose also, C6 Z51 13.5"/13" brakes (Kore 3 front brackets/spindles (which are really nice), my own design rear brackets), reworked front/rear suspension, 406" roller cam/Edelbrock fuel injected small block, 700R4 trans, 10" posi with 3.73 gears. I'll be building my own custom dash/interior, and it will have black SS stripes.

p.s. If you do modify your bumper to pull it up/in, be mindful of the tailgate clearance, both when it's up and down. I had to trim about 1/4" off the bottom to clear the top of the bumper, but it looks better that way because it lines up with the end caps on each side. Also, there is only about 1/8" clearance between the tailgate and the bumper when the tailgate is down, so check all these while you are trial fitting your bumper!
