400 PONTIAC BLOCK, STROKER KIT 4.250? EDELBROCK PERFORMER INTAKE AND 600CFM CARB. CAN I SEND OUT MY#46 HEADS WITH SCREW IN STUDS ,GET MILD MACHINE WORK DONE AND MAKE THIS ALL WORK WITHOUT BUYING HEADS OR ANOTHER CARB??? I'M NOT A MECHANIC  THANKS  

How much power are you trying to get out of it and what cam are you using.  

I run that combo. I use Edelbrock heads and a solid cam. Makes 575 hp on pump gas. I use a Torker 2 manifold.Why spend the money o cast iron heads? Edelbrocks flow 280 cfm out of the box. If you have the hood clearence, I would run a performer Rpm or Torker 2.  

The 400 would give you plenty of power, and I dont give a damn, what anyone thinks!you'll kick 350's dead in the rear as long as you build it correctly. Also, you dont have to use aftermarket heads, first of all, i've seen motors with stock heads put out just as much power if not more power than their counterparts. take that to the bank all you people who spent all that money for bolt ons when you could've just had them ported and polished!
