Unfortunately because of a series of events that have occured I will not make the challenge. I hope whoever gets my spot does well! I wish all of the competitors except for the School of Automotive Machinists good luck and have a good time!

We have had several drop out's so I would keep checking the teams running up until the first day, as they seem to be changing almost daily as we get closer to the start.

I can't wait to see how DTS or whoever explains the big rise in scores this year. Gonna be interesting.

Hey there Revolutionary, We will be back next year for round 2,3,4 at appelby's. We're already putting our team together. Time is always your friend when its on your side. I can't tell you how tuff it was in 06 when we broke our crank on the last dyno pull before we were to ship motor. 53hrs almost none stop before we fired the replacement motor. We had parts shipped in red and blue lable from all over the country. We were honored to place 3rd in 06. We had one hell of a team working on the motor. Sometimes time is against you. NEVER GIVE UP Thax Wildbill383

Sadly enough I had all of the components together to make a really strong combination, but I am a head porter so I don't have the machines to do block work. I counted on the wrong people to come through for me, because they didn't. I do not know what their reasons were for not wanting me to make the show, but they obviously didn't. You would think that if one of their former students did well it would also make them look good. I wasn't asking for a handout, just a hand-up.It is not like I was asking them to do it for me, just for the use of their block machines. I am not giving up on engine building but I am on certain people

I don't think that the big money teams should be able to bring more than 1 motor to the show, especially when there is always a long alternate list that is full of people that could show well. Does anyone know the power numbers on Bischoff's entry?

If we get accepted, 5 of the contestant teams from 2008 will be doing a JOINT effort other than their own engines. Each of the 5 teams will be responsible for providing a certain competitive "subset" of pieces in order to assemble a small block 302 type Ford engine at the contest site. It could be very interresting indeed...!

Are there some rules out we haven't heard about yet?

We have been told that a 302 Ford TYPE engine will be legal but, nothing else about what any of the rules may be.

A 302 would be a good engine. Which teams are going to be involved with the build?

Automotive Machine & Performance, R.M. Competition, Performance Crankshaft, MPG heads, Survival Motorsports. It's probably one of the easiest engines to be able to coordinate all the subsets and still have them all bolt together.
