hello guys, i think johnny's laguna should be a modern engine junk yard power plant, pro street car that has custom stuff inside and out, but at the same time can be used as a every day car to go pick up milk and beer.at first i really wanted to force the pro street design theam/ because i wanted the world to see it finally in a good light ,like it's in the last one in the family of the a 1970 chevelle  but after thinking about it us laguna owners should be happy any one is doing anything on the laguna s3! with that said i'm going to roll with you johnny your nascar design.i just started a new  build on my pro street 1976 laguna s3, i'll post pics and tech info from time to  time , it will be completed in 90 days under $35000. johnny let's have fun with this. i just retired at 51 as a custom home builder and all i want is to play with my cars and walk  my lab, now with the s3 got3 projects going at the same time, sl3

hey it's not that i don't like the nascar look, i just wanted to see a pro  built car, that brings good light on the laguna s3,all the past project cars have set the mark high so i'm trusting johnny on this one { and respecting that is his own car} i'm building my s3 the way i want it with a $35000 underline cost, prostreet, handling, big block 454 power under the hood, custom body work and paint. but i want all this to look like it left the factory like that.none of that 5 year build time. 90 days is my time limit, chip foose dose it 7 days and  i'm not chip but as a  custom home builder i learned to manage time and people. so  when i drop my s3 off at one of the shops i have lined up they know they have a amount ageed on paper to do their work and the car will be picked up on that day one way or the other. that way you keep them from spinning you around.the nascar look isn't what i would do but thats me. got the 454 crate 500hp engine in today mounted to a gm400 trans.so it's on guys, sl3  

I have a 74 buick century with 21000 miles.  I have never seen one like it.  I have had a hard time finding aftermarket parts like window felts and bumpers.  Anyone know where to find these parts??  

Happy I found this site. I thought I was the only guy who liked Lagunas. Well Damm! Guess what your guy's are a-ok. I and seven of them 73 to 76 and some parts. Ofcourse I saved the wrong stuff. Anyways did you guys catch the 74 Laguna on page ten of the Octobr issue of Popular Hot Rodding? A lot of them have gone down this way. Hope to post some photos soon. So hang on to them guys. Glad I found it too. Now the hard part I am looking for a 75-76 Laguna with the swivel bucket option aswell as as loaded as possible I hate to admit it her but I am responsible for the death of one of these beauties. Forgive me I was at an influencial age when smokey and the bandit and the diukes were on. Betsy was the best and toughest car I have ever owned since and it is a list of some of the best muscle GM and Mopar have ever produced.

you've gotten a bunch of my e-mails & car pics during the past year. seeing the Laguna project come to life month to month is very inspiring as i'm sure it is for many other Gen III owners. PHR had both my lime green '76 clone & my son's silver '77 (another Laguna clone) in one of this years Laguna-of-the-Month spots and then my son's silver car again (now 454 equipped) in the Nov '08 issue. talk about incentive!! i know there are scores of featureworthy Gen3 Chevelles out there so seeing our cars in your mag twice in a year in LOTM is awesome! mucho thanks!
i'm 54, father of 7. been hotroddin since my teens and was first drawn to 1/4 mile type cars. i became more interested in oval track rides as the years passed. it's really cool seeing your project being shared with so many car advocates out there who may have totally overlooked the '73 to '77 Chevelle body style. maybe soon we'll see more parts available in all of those aftermarket catalogs that cater to '64 to '72 Chevelles & then skip to the '78's? you think?!?
i have been blessed with friends who have helped me along the way, especially one Darren Koser in the tiny town of Herman, Mn (a-way up northwest by the N Dakota border). more '73 - '77 Chevelles & Montes than ive ever seen in one place. well worth the trip from Omaha once a year to visit to see what new parts he's saved for me but even more important.. the friendship. what a cool guy. he's big into AMC stuff, too.
anyway..... my point is to say thank you.. for following our projects & letting us in on yours! i feel almost young again!

Thanks Tony. Yeah, I really dig your son's silver car. I've got pix of it on my hard drive I refer to occasionally. You are wrong about there being a ton of feature worthy cars out there. I really haven't found any that meet all my criteria. There are a lot of these cars out there, it's just they aren't fittin' on all cylinders, if you know what I mean.

There already is a ton of stuff out there for '78-'88 A-/G-bodies. The market just totally skipped a generation, and went to the next one. You can buy just about anything for the later cars.

Know anybody who has a '74-'76 gauge cluster they can part with? (round gauges) I can't find one to save my sorry life.  

It's kind of awesome to see all of these Laguna owners come out of the woodwork over the last couple of months. I had no idea these cars had any kind of following.

I have a 74 s3 white with red its comeing up on 30 years that I have oned it did frame off started 19 years ago its got the nomber match 454 facty 4sp car with power roof windows and locks its sporting a t400 with 410 rear gear  can any one brake the nombers down too tell how meny 4sp cars were made and how rare is the roof only seen 1 other sence i had thts one  omost forget it only has 48 K box A  az title
