Can I use flux-core MIG to weld a pickup to an oil pump?  What kind?

flux core is fluxcore and mig is metal inert gas what you need is a tig welder . something that small is delicate and needs a steady hand . the welder your talking about is only good for any thing over 18 ga. steel . i have 35 years in welding and have certs in 4 types of welding... mig and fluxcore will burn thru and plug up your tube which causes the oil not to flow . leave the touchy welding to the pros it will cost ya  but its done right

autozone if you have one near you has loan a tool program... they sometimes have the oil pickup installation tool in stock...

the part number is OEM27105  

replacement stock pickups  will drive in tight... and not need spot welding...
