I feel compelled to respond to the rant about Liz Miles. I want her to know that I like her work and I like her, even though we've not personally met.I learned of her through a story in another magazine. I was impressed. Not only was a young woman interested in the car hobby, but she was doing something most of us don't. She got the formal training to do her own work and she really does her own work! I was inspired. At the age of 57, I decided to get some training myself. I've now finished a 4 credit hour course in MIG welding through my local community college and have been using my newfound skills on my 39 Oldsmobile streetrod, built my me in my garage. When asked who did the work, I'm proud to say, "I did all of it myself". I shared my experience with her through the internet and Liz actually responded very graciously and shared some great tips. She is the real deal and she's real nice too. I'm baffled that any reader would be bothered that she has killer good looks. It sure doesn't bother me. She represents an upcoming generation keeping our hobby alive and she does it with class! Not to diminish the value of anybody else you have on staff, you're lucky to have her.
In case you are all wondering, no, I haven't paid for the post above! Thanks bud, I really appreciate the support.

I think PHR hit the jack pot. Finding a woman who is interested in cars is hard enough. Finding one who not only is interested but wrenches on them? Priceless. I'm really suprised in this day and age that there is still the "Man VS Woman" thing going on. Who really cares what the gender is? The complainer is either jealous or perhaps sour grapes? (maybe they were turned down for the Tech Ed. position) Either way, you have to start somewhere to gain your experience. Mine started when I was 15, so I have quite a few years of experience under my ever expanding belt. What I do lack experience in is my newest hobby, writing. It seems like Ms. Miles is also very good with that, so she has me beat there. But I am trying, and even created a blog page at franksclassiccargarage.blogspot.com to pratice, with the hope of someday landing a position like Liz Miles got. A well deserved position I might add.

Yeah so far I have seen some great articles, the tech has been pretty in depth and the last word Editorial has been an interesting read. Also if you really miss Steven Rupp's work you can still read it in Camaro Performers magazine
