I bought a 2008 Jeep Wrangler X with the 3.8 litre V6 engine. I would like to know the pro's and con's of both the 4.0 litre in line 6 cylinder engine and the 3.8 litre V6 engine. I hope someone out there who knows something about this subject will please help me out. There has to be something redeeming about the V6 verses the (in line 6 cylinder engine) "I Hope" Thanks again, bboyd.

Generally speaking, 6 cylinders in a row create less vibration (whether a 6 or a V-12) while V6's seem to make so much, there were "Even fire" and "odd fire" and v-6's with balance shafts. and of course, there's the matter of length...if you're designing a car.
I suspect you're looking for more info than that...probably a real Jeep site, not some Yuppie "how do I bolt on a chrome brush guard?" site, will help out.
