Hey guys, I'm new to this forum, and I stumbled across some articles on the engine masters. So I'm having some thoughts about building my own Ford 408 stroker using either a World Products man o war block with 2.75 mains and 9.2 deck height like a cleveland, or just a cleveland block.. Im from Australia and these are thick on the ground here, and I'm thinking a nice little combo using CHI 3V 225cc heads would go great in a 3400lbs car.
Now.. I'd like to have an engine thats internally balanced, so I guess that means a Scat 4 inch stroke crank using 6.2 or 6.125 H-beams..??
I'm up in the air about cam selection thats my problem..Using dyno sim and dyno2003 its telling me the cam should be small like a Crane F-256 and it makes 600hp with it, which doesnt seem right to me
Pistons may have to be custom, with about an inch or so compression height and getting between 11.5:1 and 12:1 depending on chamber cc
Question is.. Do you think that 600+ HP is possible with that sort of cam or should I go bigger..?? and do I need the 4.00 stroke 6.125"+ crank/rod combo to internally balance??
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated..
