no the 64 cc camel hump heads will raise the compression depending on the pistons...
can you do a compression test... and post the numbers..150,160,170,180 psi...
that will tell some of up what kind of compression you have...
and the camel hump heads were the power heads of the day.. there were several variations on them...
casting numbers... 186, 291, 292, 461, 461X i have forgotten all the numbers..
if they have screw in studs they probably have 202 intakes... the 292's had angle plugs. (spark plugs that did not stick out straight..) these made more power..
does you set have factory bosses on the ends and a tapped hole for the alternator??
the 69 and 70 versions had that already done... might be a 468 or 486 casting...
all of these will come from the factory with soft seats... if hardened seats were installed you are ahead of the game...
if not plan on doing that the next time they are off...
if you are happy with them... run em.. there's nothing wrong with making horsepower...
with a rolled truck.. you might want to drop the pan and check the rods and main bearings.. for lack of oil damage... sometimes when cars roll they run for a few seconds upside down.. and the mains and rods take a beating.. if damaged.. also change the cam bearings...
if you have a good engine stand.. mount it... hook up a hose to the fuel pump.. a wire to the hei.. and the battery ... fire it up... i did this on a stand a few years ago... pointed the shortie headers right at where the boss was asleep in a car.. vroom vroom vroom... he thought the world was coming to an end... .. nope just his 383 sbc..

They not only raise the c.r. they also flow better. On the straight plug heads the plugs will be pointing straight out from the heads towards the finder the angle plug heads the plugs will angle to each other. The heads you have are straight plug heads.
