Im looking at a 350 with a 327 crank. I dont know if thats a good horespower engine could someone tell me about it  

What is the casting numbers,also the year of the block.  

the block is 3970010 the heads 3917293 I looked it up i think its a 69/70 so what do you think  

well if you get the right lube and fittings you should be able to make that run....the 327 was a staple of the hot rods for years... nothing wrong with it at all...

the block was used in 302, 327's and 350's      3 inch stroke, 3.25 stroke, 3.48 stroke.... all 4 inch bore....  and that block might be a 4 bolt main ...  the 010 blocks did come that way... not all but some...

stroker cranks will also fit that block... so you can make a 383...

there is no answer on how much power it could make as there is no limit of combonations that can be assembled...  

The 3970010 is a very good block they used that casting number for the 302,327,350 with the large journal crank. FOR the heads they are low compression and low performance they have 1.72/1.50 valves and 76cc chambers if you are wanting a fair amount of power out of this engine then you will need better heads.  

good answer wayne.sounds like a good ol' 327 to me.  

Nice thing about the 327 crank is it'll rev a bit more than the 350 because of the shorter stroke. You can take that combo and build a great street engine.

The engine came out of a 68 camaro its got 010 020 on the back of the block and the heads have E stamped on front right head  

so do you have it in yet?  

Yes they put it in yesterday at Speed World Lexington Ky and its sweet. Its a good thumper makes my 1980 C10 shortbed nice
