I wanted to address the choice of the 1981 Chrysler Imperial as one of the 9 cars in the article.

I am sorry to hear about the hate mail PHR has received about this choice.

As a Mopar fan, I'm always interested in new ideas for Chrysler vehicles. Your idea for the Imperial is an interesting idea in my view, despite the printing faux pas.

If I had a 1981 Imperial, I would build mine with an Art Morrison Max-G Chassis, a 6.1 Hemi from Street & Performance, a Tremec Viper 6-speed, custom dashboard, Kinesis K58 wheels, and Viper suspension front and rear.

If I wanted to install an automatic instead of a Viper 6-speed, I'd go with the GM 4L80E with custom bellhousing from Keisler Automotive and a Twist Machine paddle shifting setup.

I'd probably use a paint scheme different from the paint scheme in the article, however.

I don't have the October 2005 issue anymore.
