Hey guys, I have a 69 Olds that I'm working on, does anyone know of a company that makes 1-off led tail lights? Every company I try, doesnt offer kits, becuase Olds isn't main stream. Any input would be appreciated, thanks.

The simplest cousre of action might be to make the taillights your self, or have someone mmake them for you. you can use the existing taillight fixture and make any shape you want with perfboard installed with LED lights. I'll see if I can find anything showing the procedure.

I'm not an electrician but I know several people that have made thier own LED tail lights.
The main issue would be to make boards that fit your current housing and then attach LEDs and a controler circut. I also wonder if you could make the LED boards from another car fit in your housings. For example the boards from a '68 non-RS Camaro is a pretty small retangular shape.

led stacked replacement bulbs are available for 1156, 1157, 3057, 3157 ... that would be the easist way to do it... buy it and put it in... 10 seconds... need a special flasher also...
radio shack and allelectronics.com sell perf boards that can be cut to fit and leds soldered in...
there are companys that have software after you have a rough design to design a protptype circut board . they then will produce a small run in a day or two... that could put you in the led tail light kit bizz...at least for the car you designed it to fit..
google overnight printed circut boards...
there is also LEDtronics in torrance... but you stillneed a design...
wait.. there is another way... truck tail lamps.. the plastic ones.. available from most napa stores and truck stops.. like 7 to 12 bucks each... cut one apart and rob it of its circut board... it's already set up to run 12 volts...

Hey, thanks for all the input. The idea of truck lamps caught my attention, I'll check into that.
The perfboard concept is what I think I'm going to choose. I checked out radio shack, perfboards are cheap, and 40 led's will run 80 bucks, its actually cheaper than buying a kit.
The design comes natural to me, Im going to school to become a car designer. My wiring skills is what needs help, Im still not sure how to get the turn signals/brakes to work right. I'll figure it out though.

this place also has leds for cheep
http://www.allelectronics.com/cgi-bin/category/340/LEDs.html
and they also have perf boards.. and kits to do your own traces...
do a google search for overnight circut boards...there are several places that provide software and will produce custome pc boards to your drawings in a few days...
if you get good at this it could be your specialty...
