i just recently built a 383 stroker bought a scat bottom end domed pistons bought a trick flow top end kit rated for "490" hp alumminum heads 72cc combustion chamber. it will be runing 11.5:1 compresion my question is im debating on what to run for fuel i was think about running E85 because it likes higher compression then the 93 octane pump gas. i was told that i would get better performance out of the E85 but i here it is kinda hard to get set up right. i was wondering what others opion would be on what type of fuel to run thanks

I'm working on running E85 in my Buick. From what I've seen, it's a matter of water control (keeping water out of the system); and starting with roughly 30% more fuel. E85 is cheap race gas.... As for running 93 octane. Good luck with that, I started with roughly the same compression and it took 5 gallons of avgas to 10 gallons of 93 octane to keep it from pinging. With all of that being said, I will be running a small B&M blower on the motor and believe that it's the cheapest horsepower you can build.

thank you for the info ik thinking more and more to running E85 just for the reason its getting eaiser to get ahold of and good for higher compression. but i still was wanting to see what others will say. and just to add a little more info i want to make it a street strip car and it wont see any winter driving.
