Just an observation: I am not competing in the EMC, but I did read through the rules and I've been keeping taps on what's going on. Looks like someone needs to dig out their old text books and look up the definition of significant digits! Lets say you have a 352 CI motor, make an average 442.3 ft-lbs of torque, 398.4 average hp, the math for the score would come out to 2388.35, so EMC would give you a score of 2388.4. WRONG! There are only 3 significant digits - these come from 352 CI. Therefore the score SHOULD be recorded as 2390 if they follow through with what the rules say. Also, per the rules, there can be no more sig-figs with the engine size because they specifically state that they round up to the nearest CI.

I knew i should have been paying attention in math class instead of daydreaming about cars.

Can you take me through the math real slow I promise to pay attention. How did you come up with 2390? If we only have 3 significant digits in the whole equation and always round up I come up with 2392. I am really not trying to be smart just trying to get that way.

I'm just glad i was just updating the site, and not doing calculations, or they would have been completely wrong.
because I stink at math
