What was your first car? What did you learn to drive in?
My first car was a '98 Dodge Dakota hand me down from my brother, we went through 4 transmissions the thing was a lemon (or maybe it was 3 teenage boys driving it) finally sold it last year, and was sad to see it go.
I know most of you will have much cooler cars or perhaps more embarrasing. Let us know.

1962 Buick Skylark. I bought it for the princely sum of $50.00. Towed it home, made it run. On that car I learned how to: do bodywork, R&R a Powerglide, change the paint color, (was red with white top, then was chocolate brown with white top.... didn't change the door jamb or dash from red - quite attractive ), change heads (fastest time changed both heads and gaskets in 4 hours, diagnosis electrical problems, and drive in a sleeping bag (heater never worked). While the car may have been devoid of traditional reliability; it did give me a great start in building cars and a love of Chev powered Buicks....

64 Olds wagon. Had some huge motor in it - 455 I think. Financed $300 on it, made about 1/2 the payments. No heater, smoked through the defroster vents, left a big puddle of oil wherever it went. After about 6 weeks of that and $150 or so, I took it back to the used car dealer. He said "We don't take cars back". I said "Hunt me down and make me take it back" and walked away. Lessons!
My second car is the Falcon. Been together since the summer of 1974.
1967 Falcon 4 door - 351C 1970 Mustang coupe - 351C http://raceabilene.com/kelly/hotrod Owner built, owner abused.

Well at least it did'nt have a manual transmission, it could be kind of tough to work a clutch wrapped in a sleeping bag!

Ah, my first car...
You know, that's hard to say. My first car for the street was my grandfather's '70 Fairlane 500 2-door. Being in high school with a car that was barely 4 years old was quite cool. The girls definitely thought so!
But I learned to drive in a few other cars well before that. When I was 14, my dad bought a '62 Fairlane 4-door for $50. (This was 1972, folks). As I recall it had a 260 with an auto tranny that wouldn't shift out of low gear. So, my dad gave me the car to take out in the old field at the end of the street and drive the crap out of it. For over 2 weeks one summer I thought I was Curtis Turner out there power sliding the car through the "corners" as I raced in an oval until the car started sputtering from low fuel. Of course, being stuck in low I never was able to churn out enough speed to get too far out of control. But, man... that was fun!

Well I have three first cars actually two of them I actaully purchased myself and one of them I still have.Well here goes: My first car that I was allowed to drive to and from highschool was a 1990 Buick Le Sabre Limited.Leather seats 74000 miles, my dad got it off of my grandma then drove it from Florida to Texas Where it resides as my sisters daily driver. Fun car. The first car that I actually bought myself was a 1990 Ford Mustang 5.0 hatchback.Upgraded to the brim with every bolt on that you could think of minus a supercharger a manual transmission.Had to many problems with it so I sold it to a friend who was going to have it as a racer, for about 8k. Next we have my current car, A 1981 Pontiac Firebird Esprit.Original interior with sun-fried plastic in the rear seat panels.(Anybody know where to get replacements?).An aftermarket Chevy 350 bored to a 355.(Not enough power for me,but its a work in progress.) and a nice looking flame paint-job.
