I inherited my grandpa's `84 D100 pickup. It spent its entire life in a heated garage, and has barely over 50K miles on it. But it also has a dead slant six (thrown rod).
My neighbor is selling a rebuilt Chevy 307 that he yanked from a Chevelle for a big block swap, and he's giving it to me for dirt cheap. I can't even rebuild the heads for the price he's offering.
Now, my question: What's involved in swapping the Chevy motor into the Dodge? I'd really like to keep the A833OD trans because it is practically new, and it already fits the trans tunnel Besides, I already own it.
Any ideas? Or is this a stupid idea?
