I know it's probably asked quite often, ***

I see A LOT of cars mostly from the West Coast featured in almost all of the magazines. I know this is mainly due to the weather conditions there, but how about us East Coast guys. What is the best avenue to "help" us in the colder states to get the possibility of getting our cars featured?? There are quite a bit of feature quality cars in my area (Eastern PA), but there really is no mention of how we can go about getting an opportunity like this.

Thanks in advance

Go where there's not piles of snow, a -20 degree wind chill, and salt all over the road. Or you could drive south until it all goes away. I'm headed to Florida for the NMCA True Street race in Bradenton this April. Try that east coast venue. Of course, the car has to be feature-worthy, and appropriate to the magazine in question.

LOL!!!!!! It is cold here!!!  Anyway, I do understand your point regarding the weather and the car being "feature-worthy", but do you guys ever hit events throughout the year in the Northeast??

Wait. Two days before Johnny called me, we received 10" of snow. You just have to be willing to shovel snow out of the picture. In May's issue, The pictures of my TA, it was 30 degrees and there was snow in a lot of places just out of frame. Robert Mcgaffin did a great job of keeping the snow out of the pictures. It did help that it was 50 degrees all week before the shoot and 80% of the snow was melted. So it kept the shoveling to a minimum.

I noticed I "missed the boat".  They had a 67 Falcon in the mag this month.  Guess I'll have to settle for second place on that one   if ever.

And what's the deal with the red T/A - "I beat the snot out of it...put at least 2500 miles and 20 drag passes a year on it."  Wannabe - I put 500+ passes on mine.  He needs to get out more LOL.

I bow to you 1967Falcon. What do you run at the track? I usually go 4 times a year and actually put closer to 80 passes a year on. 500 is awesome. I wish I had a track that close to me. You must go every weekend. I do feel lucky. I won an engine and was in a magazine two months in a row. I have been trying to get in the magazine for several years and have sent several pictures in to all the contests. Quality pictures are everything.

We are at the track every weekend.  We take pictures for the track and run the web site.
The Abilene Dragstrip

We also beat the crud out of the cars - both cars run through two sets of Mickeys each year and run 500~520 passes.  The 351C in the Mustang had 1916 passes on it when I freshed it this past winter.  We were also #1 and #2 in Modified ET (footbrake) and #1 and #2 in the Summit Super Series here.  You can say that we're bitten by the bug.  I build for reliability more than HP.

The Falcon is running slow right now because it has the old 302 in it.  A fresh 351C is going together on the stand right now.  I'd like to have it by the middle of the month but I still have to port and build the heads and buy a converter.

The Mustang runs 7.70s @ 88+ in the 1/8 mile right now.  It's running an off the shelf TCI Super Street Fighter, so a good 95.~10" bracket converter would probably pick it up a tenth or more.  The Falcon should run 7.50s~60s @ 90 with the new engine, more or less.  I added a roll bar and made some frame connector this winter, so I added 150 lbs to the car.  Had to - it was starting to flex in it's old age.  I'm shopping for a converter sponsor for both cars right now.

Pictures I've got - we both shoot with digital camers.  Her's is better, of course.
