While reading the 'Reinventing the wheel' article in the Apr 07 issue, I thought I'd pass on a custom/small run machining site I use. www.emachineshop.com. They have a cad/drafting tool that allows you to create parts that are then submitted for pricing. When you submit for pricing, you get response immediately unless some type of custom hand finish is called for.
They work in work in just about any material needed from aluminum, steels, stanless to plastics.

I think I checked them out about a year or so ago. A pretty good concept indeed.
