We need to see more big cars...I do enjoy the features that have been run in the past on early Impalas, but how about some newer heavy Chevys? I see that GM High Tech does feature the 94-96 Impalas quite often...that's great. I love the coverage of the NAISSO shows. The cars I speak of are the "box" style. 77-90, the obviously forgotten years. With Frank Savage and his '85 Caprice(albeit a 2 door) winning at the Hot Rod pump gas drags in 2006 I can see a small step toward respectability but these cars constantly get bagged on despite being perrenial members of any of a number of magazine's "cheap project cars anyone can afford" lists. Sure, the '94-'96 9c1 Caprices came with LT1s but those aren't the only dogs in the pen. How about '88-'90 with TBI? Great candidates for a tune port conversion if you ask me. '86-'90 9c1 Caprices with 5.7s...4 bolt main blocks, factory hydraulic roller cams, not to mention heavy duty cooling and suspension pieces. Sounds like the framework for a great "pro-touring/g-machine". Unmistakeably recognized as the Rodney Dangerfield of cheap performance...I will continue my projects-one for the street/strip('87)--one for the open road('91)
