what is involved to swap frame safest way to raise and support body with out damageing
posting this from work:If you are swapping out a twisted frame, consider making the body straight first, so it can become a template if need be. Also makes bolting up to a floorpan easier, too Disconnect everything. Fuel tank from hose running to the rear license plate, ground connections, etc. strip interior out of body, to make it lighter. taking the doors off will help, since you already made sure the body itself is straight (make a line across the hinges, so they are easy to line up when reinstalling). Taking the glass out wouldn't hurt, if you're worried about breaking it.Jackstands used for holding up pickup camper shells may just do the trick. installing 13" lowrider rims so you can roll out the chassis and not have to lift the body up may also help, but chances are we're making this too expensive by this time.in the much cheaper dept, a bunch of friends who will be your eyes for you, watching different parts of a big car like this, can warn you of bolts you missed as you separate the body from the frame.
Just because you can't do it...doesn't mean its impossible
