I have a 440 six pack and about 3 weeks ago i went and started the car and it aquired a miss, like a burnt valve, with out checking i pulled the heads and installed a rebuilt set. after assembling the engine I went to start it and the miss is still there. number 2,8 3,5 cylinders are cold and the plugs are soaked with gas,the intake runners are also soaked, those 4 cylinders are on the left side of the carbs(dual plane intake).I am thinking warped or cracked intake , am I in the right direction or any suggestions.

Since the plugs are wet, it sounds like they are not firing. Check the plugs and using a timing light, check to see that they are getting spark. It does not make sence that a cracked mainfold would effect all four plugs on one side of the manifold. Sure sounds like an ignition problem.
Good luck Steve
