We dig the fact that PHR tests some of the cars they feature in the magazine. Do you think this is valuable information? Do you think it adds legitimacacy to the cars featured in PHR?

Absolutely! I really understand and appreciate a hot rod that can be put through the paces in a Motor Trend type series of tests and my hat is off to anyone who does it to their cars and gets respectable numbers. You might compare results to a similar performing OEM car whether it's a V6 Mustang or a Ferrar Enzo just to help the layman make sense of stopping distances and skidpad numbers.

The only thing that bothers me that we don't publish is 0-60 mph times. I think a lot of readers relate to that more readily than even quarter-mile times. How 'bout it Nick? Can we do 0-60?

I think any kind of performance testing is great. I like looking at the high dollar ultra clean show cars as much as the next guy. But I'm always left wondering how they would actually perform. Would they make it more than once around the track without overheating, fading the brakes, or having some other kind of mechanical failure?
Kudos to the guys who actually drive them the way they were meant to be driven! Building them is only half the fun.
Speaking of driving them, here's a few videos of my '70 El Camino SS on the road course at Brainerd International Raceway in Brainerd, MN.

p.s. It was a thrill seeing my car in the Hometown section of the June 2006 issue. Thanks!
